It is also safe for use in the food, (organic) farming and (organic) agriculture and horticulture. It is greasy and non-irritating. It has obtained NSF "H1" certification for use in the food sector.

Le principal composant du Granulo Šyl est un mélange à base de silicate de soude. Le Granulo Šyl est perméable à la vapeur d’eau et son odeur est neutre.
Il accroît l’adhésion par silicatisation sur des supports minéraux, mais s’utilise aussi sur des supports non minéraux.
